June 6, 2016, Northampton, MA — The Northampton Area Young Professionals (NAYP) announce their sixth-annual Board Fair, scheduled for June 9, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Union Station in Northampton, Massachusetts. Free and open to the public, the Board Fair seeks to connect young professionals with local organizations that have volunteer opportunities. The event is sponsored by Florence Bank, the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, WGBY, Public Television for Western New England, and New England Public Radio (NEPR).

“We’re proud of our success in connecting the needs of organizations with the interests of young professionals looking to invest their time in something meaningful. We’re constantly impressed by the roles our young professionals hold in the community, and their desire to contribute to the success of our region.” says NAYP President Christopher Whelan of Florence Bank.

Attendees will meet with representatives of more than forty organizations to gather information about their volunteer needs. The event welcomes organization with board or committee vacancies, as well as general volunteer opportunities.

The Board Fair will feature organizations from various industries, including Cutchins Programs for Children and Families, Pioneer Valley Symphony, Prison Policy Initiative, and Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity.

As part of its broader mission, the NAYP is excited to help connect local organizations with interested community members to increase their impact, promote innovation, and help to further develop the western Massachusetts business community.

Growing to more than 250 active members since its inception in 2007, NAYP is a membership-based affiliate group of the Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce whose mission is to develop and enhance opportunities for the next generation of the Northampton area’s business leaders. Monthly networking events attract an average of 80+ attendees, helping to promote area businesses and organizations. NAYP also provides professional development programming and social and cultural outings for its membership.
